about

“The Revolution Is A Million dollar business. Your views been used to make some one rich. Merchandising martyrs til’ the well doesn’t spit. The revolution sold it’s own fist”
-Ecid chants on one of the many epic, intense narratives on “Red Beretta” a “concept” album based on the bizarre events that turn a modern day hero into a monster. It is a layered collection of intense narratives & dirty psychedelic grooves, built on Ecid’s ear for digging up dangerous, melodic, “what the hell is that?” samples & his passion for risky, thought provoking story telling. Underneath all the layers Red Beretta is a portrait of society's infatuation with Psychopath's & its need to humanize them & try to piece together why & how they become that way.

“Red Beretta's beats are drenched in cinematic acid rock and soul jazz, and infused with a striking bleakness that makes it Ecid's most harrowing and evocative production work as well as a lyrical tour de force.” –City Pages
